Mind Modes

Try asking someone who is watching TV or playing video games to do something. A good portion of the time they will answer; "sure", "yes", or "okay", and continue what they are doing without actually comprehending what you are asking. Ask them at the dinner table why they didn't do what you asked, and they will most likely respond "You never asked me to do that!". It almost seems that when people are sucked in to the alternate world of technology, their subconscious takes over and deals with everything that happens in the real world with a solution of least resistance. When they snap back to reality, they tend to forget most of the information that the subconscious deals with. The same goes for people in deep thought, or people deeply involved in something that takes concentration.
Anyways, this isn't meant to be profound or anything. I just think it's interesting to observe how the mind switches modes, how it acts in the different modes, and how these modes seem so disconnected.
