I just heard some things about this group and what they are claiming to do to facebook. I find this very interesting. I understand from what I am reading that they are a loose organization, but I think I have come to the conclusion of some things on them. 1)They are pro-piracy. I really think this is very wrong. They think stealing music is ok because it is on the internet? Really? Music is the exact same as when it was on records. If someone produces it, you should pay for it. Not doing that is theft. I think that is pretty basic. If not all of the Anonymous does this then maybe I cannot condemn them, but they might consider fighting piracy as a move because internet piracy is certainly theft. 2)So called attack on the epilepsy foundation? They apperently did this malicious attack on some epilepsy website sending flashing images. I don't know much about epilepsy, but I do know that I see those warnings about flashing images. From what I saw this could have been done by another group though. I can say that if anyone in the group participated in that attack though, that is very malicious. 3)They got mad at some teenage who didn't want cussing and released his personal information out? I find this ironic given the facebook attack that is supposed to happen soon. They are protesting the release of information, which I think I can agree with, but yet they put out this teen's address because he was against cussing? That is pretty brutal given the fact that people sent pizza and porn to the kid's house. Given the fact that this teenager has a right to be against cursing? That was wrong. 4)PSN network takedown. I guess that was big news. I don't own one, but from what I saw everyone who did own a PSN was very upset. I did see that many people who worked for Sony had their families harrassed by members though. Again I see this as a flagrant violation of any kind of code of conduct. 5)If they attacked Westboro Baptist. That is a politically motivated attack. I think it is wrong. Of course the group did claim that they were not responsible because it would be self defeating of their belief in right to free speech. 6)Opperation Orlando. They are taking down websites of organizations like the Rotary club because people were arrested violating city ordinances. I guess the more I look at this group, the more I see connection with real terrorist groups. They might have some excellent points, and some of their causes can be considred just, but many of the tactics they use cannot be condoned. Also they get upset when they get arrested, but when violating laws that is what did they expect? I am predicting that they will be in a lot of trouble if they are not careful. You cannot beat the state. Just like Vegas, it always wins.
