That's illegal (I think). Min. wage in America is what, $6.25. Are you getting paid under the table? I was getting paid $6.00/hr when I was 14 (8 years ago). Then again, I live in the East Bay Area.
Goddness were are you finding these quotes ? I can't locate this post. I thought our minimum wage was low, but $6.25 thats only about £4.00 good god its no wonde some people turn to crime.
No, people turn to crime because they are bad people(not always, sometimes they become deparate). Sorry but if we keep raising MW, we risk companies letting people go.
Thats what our Conservative party said when Labour introduced the minimum wage over here. They said industry would lose a million jobs. well it didn't happen, and the minimum wage is close to $10.00. Fact is it is always people who are on massive wage packets that claim the minimum wage is a bad idea. The Reality is more money at the bottom of the economy and less money being taken in tax's to support the ultra poor.
No, EVERY citizen of this nation(or any other if they wish)has the right to keep the dollars they made, rich or poor. And raising the wage takes away from the ones who run the business.
