THE COMMON FEATURE

I will keep this post short and too the point.

Acts as if the maxim of your action were through your power of will to become a general natural law., the categorical imperative of Kant, maxim meaning the rule of conduct or duty in action.

The tragedy of the commons means that as violence increases as a method of conduct (Arms races) the general security of the population decreases. This puts mankind in a double bind which causes psychotic reactions like wars and corruptions and murders and rapes and wholesale slaughters.

The greatest good for the greatest number can only be in the balance of our needs. That way all can enjoy the goods if all would desist from the destructive spirit of competition for more and more goods but instead choose to co-operate and seek to share the goods that they have with others who have no goods. Thus we would gain a society free from crime for everybody would have what they need. Instead of planned obsolesence in manufactured goods how about making light bulbs that last 1000 years now!
