Question has this ever happened to you?

You look in the mirror and you look unfamiliar..like a stranger..

This has happened to me more than once. and i'm somewhat curious as to why. It's a little disconcerting. Everytime it happens i look away from myself and avoid the mirror for a little while. I've always wondered if this happens to anyone else or if it has any particular meaning..

So What! There still fun. You sound like my husband. Mr. Atheist! "Being an atheist takes the fun out of horror flicks"! Geesh!
But, you got a point. They do tend to be repetitive. Just like I thought of the boogyman and meant to say the candyman. STILL, the candyman was freaky!!

It happened to me a lot as a child. I've tried to explain this before but you said it the right way. It's also the feeling of knowing who you are but it's not the person looking back at you. You are somebody else but with this other face and body. That was a weird feeling and it still happens but not as vivid or often as I remember it feeling as a child. If I go and stare at myself long enough and look straight in my eyes, I will think I am a stranger again. I just don't look at myself in the mirror much anymore. I did when I was younger I would just sit and stare at my eyes and wonder. It's a lost feeling too. OOh, I'm gone go do it today and report back.

That is one thing about being a strong Athiest, watching scary movies where superstitious crap is used to attempt to scare you. I end up laughing my ass off. I also have a tendency to analyze these movies and rip them apart. My family usually has to say, ad, can we just watch the movie".

Ask my wife she will disagree with you, no matter how small the scene is in surprises i jump. and i even once threw my bag of M&Ms all over after a scene in a movie made me jump.

Btw, Candyman and the most recent movie...Boogieman still send shivers down my spine(even tho i know its not real) and i am atheist Isis! So i dont think it has to do anything with athiesm, more like manhood or something or machoism. LOL! Ok i shouldnt have said that......
